The Opening Ceremony of Echoes Across the Century took place on the 19th of April. The Lord Mayor of the City of London attended with both his Sheriffs and over 370 people came to see the show. Four of our students, Abigail Hunt, Gemma Benjamin, Eylem Delipalta and Nahian Sazzadul received curation and guide training prior to the opening.
‘Abigail Hunt, Gemma Benjamin, Eylem Delipalta and Nahian Sazzadul, were outstanding in their conduct and ability as tour guides of the exhibition. Two of them each took the Sherriff and his lady round the exhibition. Their quiet confidence enabled them to have the Sherriff and his wife spell bound by the detail of the stories they told and made the whole exhibition come to life. They never missed a beat and as a governor of the school I could not have been more proud of them, as were their teachers’. –Mr Overton, School Governor
The Guildhall Art Gallery was packed to the rafters where students, Liverymen and members of the City of London Corporation, friends and families mingled to hear speeches by our students and catch a glimpse of this mesmerising exhibition.
The pupils hosted a fantastic and successful event of which we are all very proud.
