The school’s facilities are exceptional and a wonderful place for young people to learn and grow and also for teaching and support staff to work and learn in. The school building, which opened in 1999, has achieved national architectural recognition for its design.
The Royal Docks Community School was recently recognised by Ofsted as a rapidly improving fully inclusive 11-16 mixed comprehensive school which is at an exciting stage in its development with a 3 year plan to become outstanding. The Royal Docks School serves the diverse community of Newham, which was the main host London borough to The Olympic Games in 2012. The student population is multi-ethnic and multi-cultural. It is also a fully inclusive school with 25 students who have profound, severe and multiple learning difficulties, who are taught by a specialist team of teachers and support staff in a dedicated department.
There is a committed, dedicated and hardworking team of teachers and support staff. The whole team is focused on raising standards and improving the quality of teaching and learning and who ‘go above and beyond the call of duty’ (Ofsted, March 2015). We are proud of our school and incredibly excited to belong to a school community that is highly ambitious, outward looking and family centred. We welcome you to join us and encourage visits from prospective students and their families to see our school in action and the reasons why we are so proud of our school – The Royal Docks Community School!
